This major refurbishment and extension on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch, London was completed within a very demanding programme with plenty of tricky constraints to make it all fit within the existing structure.
Throughout construction, street level retail was kept open.
GRC Cladding panels were supplied in two bespoke colours and manufactured from Jesmonite’s AC730 materials.
The completed building is a positive and materially rich addition to this most vibrant and trendy part of town.

Large restoration project
Substantial restoration to the former Metropole Hotel, now in mixed use. Reproduction faience units to clad replacement Victorian Steelwork. A full site survey of all units was conducted prior to commencement.
Period features including cornice, finials and coping were produced for this project.
A full rebuild of this hotel post-fire damage included all string course, cills, cornice and porticos.
This substantial private estate in Surrey included a large amount of balustrade. Externally and also a lightweight version internally to reduce loads to all balconies and stair flights.

Custom feature wall tiles
This had a clear span of about 4m, internally the arch is fully hollow to accommodate the steel frame supporting the first floor.
Steel column cladding
These GRC columns were the decorative cladding to structural steelwork.
Jesmonite timber beams complete with wood grain, the moulds were taken from green oak beams that were not suitable for NHBC warranty. Jesmonite label moulds in a stone finish.

This Timber Frame build required quite a large span one piece Heads over the windows and doors, They needed to be lightweight and self-supporting for use in the rendered elevations and also be thermally efficient. The hollow Jesmonite units worked perfectly for the timber frame.
